Important Factors Of a Good Bedroom Design

As a San Francisco artist and creator of beautiful things, I strive to design the details of my life in a way that maximizes my perception of beauty. This is what I call discerning living. Beautiful fabric is one of my sources of inspiration. Which is yours?

My work is sewing for non-standard interiors, and I get great pleasure from working with excellent fabrics. Flowing silk, crisp linen and vibrant floral patterns in waxed cotton delight the senses. My signature fabric from Fortuny is one of my favorites.

What I love about my job is working closely with clients to create homes they want to live in and feel good about. I make everything from bedding to curtains to pillows, I make something amazing every single day. This expanded the rich sensory experience of my work into my philosophy of artistic life.

Artful Living can encompass the materials, textures, colors and shapes of the everyday objects you surround yourself with. Life is a celebration, and you can take advantage of every opportunity to enjoy its pleasures, enriching your daily experience with beauty. Live brilliantly:

HAVE YOUR SPECIAL THING - Take an everyday item like a purse, clutch or scarf and make it your own calling card. A unique expression that expresses you! For example, once in a hurry, Babe Paley, the socialite and trendsetter of the 1950s and 1960s, tied her Hermes scarf to the handle of her purse, sparking a fashion craze. Everyone who was someone immediately did the same.

Refresh and enrich yourself with small details - it's not what you have that matters, but how you can get the most out of it by presenting and organizing it. Consciously plan your life as an antidote to the stresses of the 21st century. Select the details of your surroundings to improve and enrich your life. Maybe it's something created especially for you or a reminder of a good time. Whenever I look at the little Florentine paper photo frame on my bookcase, I am immediately transported to this magical shop under the Ponte Vecchio and the soft, warm light of a spring evening. What little item will take you to your favorite corner of the world?

Go Green - Your artifacts can be made from recycled, recycled, reused or recovered materials. You might think that it doesn't sound sexy, but you can be beautiful and kind to the planet at the same time. Recycle an old Japanese kimono to make beautiful pillows and bags. My clients love them because they are very limited editions made especially for them from high quality printed fabrics that are no longer available. It's great to have your own pillow, large bag, or accessory in fabric that will never be made again.

Be a pebble in a pond - When a small pebble falls into a pond and ripples, you can give others the gift of Artful Living by embodying it yourself. Others will recognize and enjoy your heightened sense of vitality when you unknowingly wear your signature piece. Just think how nice it is when someone praises you for your good taste and style.

You can also skillfully preserve the details of your work environment. I often take advantage of my improved mood and vitality by placing a freshly cut flower (red, orange or yellow is my favorite gerbera) in a small elegant Japanese ceramic vase.

I keep it next to my computer and several times a day the color and fragrance provide me with wonderful meditative beauty care. This allows me to focus on my work again with a new sense of energy. You can experience the same benefits with your own artwork. By expressing the radiance that is your true nature, you will improve your life and the lives of others in amazing ways!

Get ready for an abundance of new ideas, energy and beautiful new items to improve your life!

Dear friends, successful design is a relative concept. What is good or successful for me may not be for you.

But when it comes to interior design, there are certain factors that are always present regardless of the use of space. Let's look at the minimum design factors that a space must have in order to be called a comfortable and habitable space.

1) The proportions of the room.

The word "proportions" is always used in the field of design. Every interior space used by people must be proportionate. Proportions are extremely important in any design.

Every 3D object has properties such as length, width, and height. When these three match the proportions of different parts of the human body, we call it "proportional" design.

For example, a cabinet handle needs to be sized so that our fingers can properly hold it for smooth and smooth movement. Or the seat of the chair should be enough for us to sit comfortably. Again, the type of seat will change the dimensions of the chair. The chair in the bank waiting room will be different from the sofa.

As such, proportions play an important role in interior design, and your bedroom furniture should also follow these rules. The dimensions of a double bed, its height from the floor level, the height of the wardrobe, the dimensions of the dressing table, etc. - all this matters in terms of functionality.

2) The flow of natural light into the room.

Nothing replaces natural light. The sun is the most powerful source of light and also helps to maintain the biological balance of the planet, which is very important indoors.

The study shows that natural light can penetrate a room up to 20 feet (about 7 meters). With the help of the appropriate position of the window opening, this can be easily achieved.

3) Natural ventilation

Free and unobstructed airflow can be a great way to keep a room cool and clean. This is possible if the bedrooms are located on the corner of the building, as two sides of the bedrooms face the street.

If it is not possible to provide windows on adjacent or opposite sides, a ventilation device is used over the window. The concept of the fan is simple. Residents always use the bottom half of the bedroom height. Due to the constant use of this, the temperature of the air rises and the air becomes lighter in weight.

This hot air rises and needs to be released. At such times, the respirators above the window openings play a major role in circulating the flow around the room in an upward direction. When the lower part of the room is empty, fresh air from the window takes its place, maintaining balance.

4) Clear movement patterns.

Each bedroom has specific exit points attached to it. like

a) Go to the balcony/terrace.

b) Exit to the building of the toilet / dressing room

c) Exit to the backyard (if it is on the ground floor)

If we draw an imaginary line from the entry point to all these exit points, it is best that these two lines do not intersect. Since all other areas are already occupied by furniture, the free space of the internal passage helps to create a comfortable space.

5) Good insertion of accessories.

Accessories in the bedroom are equally important. When all the other factors mentioned above are taken into account to some extent, it remains to use accessories that can significantly affect the comfort level of passengers.

a) First of all, it is necessary to provide good artificial lighting. This includes basic lighting as well as specialty decorative lighting for decorative purposes.

b) Special conditions for upholstery and bed linen. Small details like curtain rods, bed canopies can make a room feel more decorative.

c) Use materials that are easy to clean and maintain. For example, if you use PVC floorboards over standard tiled floors, can they be washed? Think about what would happen if your child used it as a canvas.

The discussion above was an attempt to find some of the global factors that can affect the comfort level of users in the bedroom. Finally, the feel you get from using your bedroom is the most important and good metric to determine the success factor of a design project.

However, it is important to note that these are not the only factors to look at, but I am sure they can help as a starting point for more creative thinking.
